Did you know?
Did you know that no place in Northern Colorado carries children's size crutches? On Monday, Anna slipped and fell when getting out of the van. A trip to urgent care told us her left foot/ankle was not broken, but she is still not putting much weight on it and her right foot has been getting sore from hopping on it. She missed 3 days of school last week and we have been pushing her around in a baby stroller, which she HATES! I would have ordered crutches early in the week if I would have know it would still be this bad. I am looking at taking her to a foot doctor next week. I just thought you would all like to know that if you are looking for children's crutches in Northern Colorado, good luck!!!!

Sorry, it's been so long!
Sorry it's been so long since I updated my blog. We were having trouble with our computer and finally got a new one. The Hubclub is doing great. The kids are all settling back into school and we are looking forward to the up coming holidays. Everyone is trying to decide what they want to be for Halloween and some of the kids have started to make Christmas lists. Today is a beautiful fall day in Colorado, the leaves in the backyard are starting to pile up. It's a good day to read a book, scrapbook, cook something yummy (yeah, right) or just enjoy the day.

Between a rock and a hard place?
We have had a case of strep throat running through our house and when I took little D to the doctor with a fever last week, they checked his ears as well. The doctor said she could not see anything in little D's left ear because it was blocked with wax, she told me to put baby oil in his ear every night for a week and then bring him back in to have it cleaned out. I took him back in today and the nurse and I were both very surprised when she squirted water in little D's ear and out shot a rock. We both laughed hard and little D just sat there looking at us like we were crazy.

Things that make you go hmmmmm!
Thinking today, as spring break draws to a close, that there are more dishes, laundry, kids and stress than a girl can handle today. However I am clinging to Gods promises and praying over Psalm 31:7 "I am over come with Joy because of your unfailing love, you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul." My prayer list today is long, my to do list is long too, but I am rejoycing in the Lord and living my life for him.

What do you want to be for Easter?
While riding in the car to church this morning, one of my precious little ones suddenly blurted out " I wanna be a squirrel for Easter". What do you want to be for Easter?

Blood work
My little girl has been sick for awhile now and we are going in tomorrow to get some blood work done to see if there is something besides just a bug going on with her. She told her daddy when he got home from work tonight that they were going to take her blood tomorrow and not ever give it back. She is too cute! Please keep my sweet princess in your prayers. Thanks!!!!!

Time
As I prepare for a one night stay at a hotel in Denver with my love, I think about my life and how blessed and awesome it truly is. This one night stay has taken a lot of planning and the kids will be at three different places but I am so excited. No this is not a trip to Mexico, Hawaii or Disney Land, these are trips my family may never take, but it is treasured time and time that will be remembered.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Last night was parent/teacher conferences for four of the kiddos. Every one is doing great and in fact excelling quite a bit. I really like going to parent/teacher conferences, not because I am worried about how my kids are doing at all, but because the teachers always have great stories about my wonderful kids for me. My favorite story from last night was from the kindergarten teacher. My foster-son told her that I changed his name to BEN 10 (the name of a carton character) and he has been writing Ben on all his papers and insisting that the other kids call him Ben 10.

Baby it's cold outside.
For two days the kids were home from school due to the severe cold. Not snow, like a lot of the country but just really cold temperatures. I enjoyed having them home, it was a little crazy but still nice to spend time with them. Today is warmer a balmy 9 degrees right now, but seems colder because it is gloomy. It is amazing how the sun can make you feel. I have 5 of 8 home today also. Two are sick with fevers and today seems crazier than the days with all of them home. Yep, I think it is the sun. So how do I change my attitude today, even if the sun is not going to come out. I think I will spend some time with my Lord and I encourage you to do the same.

Looking for a few things.
Hi blog followers, I am looking for a few things and thought you might be able to help, by donating, selling or telling me where I can get the following: A good appointment calendar with lots of room for notes, boys clothes size 4/5/6, boys toys like action figures, etc., a small bookcase and a sturdy upright dresser. Thanks for all your help! UPDATE: Still looking for toys for little boys and a small book case.

Funny
Just thought I'd share a family funny. This Sunday at church, Jason was talking to a friend and little D said "Daddy, come here." Jason bent over to see what he wanted and little D pulled out the collar of Jason's shirt, peeked at his chest hair and said "Dad, where you get that." I am still laughing!

Sunday
Ah yes, Sunday! I love Sundays! Not only do I get to worship the Lord with my family, but I get to spend the morning with some pretty awesome 3 year olds. I am the 3 year old Sunday school teacher this month and for some odd reason, I just love 3 year olds. They are great. If you have not spent time with a 3 year old lately I suggest you give it a try. Anyway. I also want to share a tip this morning of something new we have started to do on Sundays and is really working out great for our family. My kids, 5 of them, and my hubby take their lunch to school/work. It has always been a challenge for me to get lunches ready during the week. So on Sunday afternoons, everyone pitches in and we get all the sides ready. Chips in bags, canned fruit in reusable cups, carrot sticks cut up and put in bags, cookies baked and bagged, homemade granola bars made and bagged. On week nights, all I have to do is make sandwiches and in the morning everyone can pick what sides they would like with their sandwich in their lunch box. This has been a great time saver, as well as saved us money and we eat healthier also.

What do you drive?
Tonight my daughters BFF, squished inbetween two carseats, told me my 12 passanger van was not big enough and that I should have gotten the " 15 sitter van". Love it!
Mom needs a nap.
It's nap time! We don't always get a nap time around here so this is cherished time. Today CJ tells me "mom, you need to lay down with me" I ask "why" his reply is simple "because you have to drive to pick up the big kids this afternoon and if you don't lay down you will fall asleep while your driving". Ah, the wisdom of a 4 year old. I think I will lay down with him. :)
