Stone Soup

Last week, Friday the 13th, I woke up feeling like I was catching a bug.  I dropped the 5 middle kids at soccer camp and then took Jesse to run some errands.  As we walked through Target, I started getting sick to my stomach, so we headed home.  By the time we got home, I was having severe pain in my lower left abdomen and all across the bottom part of my back.  I was in so much pain all I could do was cry.  My mom took me to the emergency room here in Greeley and my dad picked up the kids from soccer camp.  It was a crazy day in the ER, they were implementing a new flow system and were having some trouble with it.  Then 2 doors down from me a prisoner that was being seen in the ER, knocked out his guard and took his gun, so the hospital was on lock down.  I was given fluids, had tests ran and had a CT scan of my abdomen.  They saw a large kidney stone on the scan in my left kidney and a cyst in my right kidney.  They gave me pain killer, anti-nausea meds and an antibiotic, along with instructions to see a urologist right away.  Guess what?  It was Friday and the soonest the urologist would be able to see me, was Wednesday.  So a very painful weekend ensued.  When I finally saw the urologist on Wednesday, he said "do you want to go into surgery tonight or tomorrow".  I have been in so much pain that I said let's do it today, I wanted this over with and fast.  So Wednesday about 4:30pm, I went into surgery.  I woke up 2 seconds later, ok so it was really an hour and a half but it felt like 2 seconds, feeling a ton better.  I am home now, still have some pain, but not nearly as sick as I was.  Turns out I am allergic to percocet, I am on a better pain killer now.  I still spent most of the day in bed today, but was able to get up to eat dinner with my family and walk around the house a bit so, I don't get blood clots.  I am pray hard that I will continue to improve each day.  I see the urologist on Monday again to remove the stent that was put in at surgery and he thinks I will feel a ton better then.  I so much appreciate the prayers and support, from my family, my church family, my neighbors and old and new friends.  You all mean so much to me and I am a truly blessed woman to have you all in my life.
